Good Morning, you Beautiful People!

Yesterday, I wrote:

I need to make some phone calls [I hate phone calls; even when I love the person I'm calling!]. One to a friend about why she didn't get a Save the Date for my daughter's wedding -- my fault! -- and one to my daughter to find out who she wants to be invited to her bridal/wedding shower.

I did not make those calls. Not calling D [my friend] was a matter of procrastination. Not calling L [my daughter, who is getting married in October] was more of an "oopsie." My husband and I decided that we should call her after dinner, so we could both talk to her, and we both fell into our regular habits [me, cleaning up dinner, doing a ten-minute tidy of the main floor, laying out clothes for the next day, and getting into jammies]. Then we settled in to watch an episode of The Residence [on Netflix, I highly recommend it if you enjoy a light-hearted murder mystery series]. And we mutually forgot our plan, and proceeded to watch two episodes, and never called L. We will call her today. No. Wait. I will text her today, and ask her to call us tonight. She definitely remembers things better than I do. I've added calling D to my top 3 priorities for today.

Other things on my to-do list include working on the yard [I think I'm going to weed the front foundation garden; it's currently all weeds], putting away the clean and folded laundry which has been hanging out on the guest bed all week, listening to a friend's recovery podcast, and giving myself a mani to go with the pedi I gave myself on Tuesday.

I continue to feel strong in my sobriety, am still working with the Mayo Clinic program to provide a backbone to establish thoughtful eating habits, and continue to have a gentle leash on the reckless spending. I have a lot of purchases that I've put off until April, so I am a bit concerned about next week, but I will handle that when next week comes.

I think I just wrote a novella about nearly nothing!!

I hope you find small pockets of beauty in your life today, and as always, thank you for being here.
