And Good Morning, you Beautiful People!

There's nothing quite like starting a weekend with a cup of coffee, some bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast while watching This Old House.

Life is good.

Thank you for being the beautiful people that you are, and hope you can each see the beauty within you that I see.

There were lots of beautifuls in this, but that's just the mood I'm in.

You may notice a shift in tags and title: I won't be changing the past titles, but from this point on, I'll use the title "daily check-in" for both sobriety check-ins, and when/if I decided to babble about life in general. Regarding the tags, I'm going to do a tag overhaul. Some of the tags I've used in the past simply do not resonate with me now, others are charming glimpses into my past, and yet others don't seem to apply to their content.  As such, I'm going to dip into my past, tag by tag, and do some decluttering and renovation.

I turn from the corner where your ghost stands
as the shivers march down my spine.

There is a word for this.

I struggle to peer through the yellowed window;
I search for something that might not be real.

A cloak of silence drapes your chair,
though no one nestles within the Queen Anne wings.

An immaculate ash-stand poses by your chair,
though no one smokes pipes with a lingering balm of cherry

Sunlight filters through the yellowed window,
unable to illuminate the austere ruins
of what had been our home.

I have the solitude I desired,
hesitant with my comfort.
 
You have not left me hollow.
