poetry project, day 13

11.13.08

I stand in this place
my words
cradled in the palm of my hand
a strand of pearls come unstrung.

My hand opens to reach you
and the pearls tumble
and skitter
hidden in dark dusty corners
of the room.

I shall go voiceless
and perhaps unnoticed.

It says little for my pop culture knowledge that I had to look up the reference. It says even less for my memory that I saw that movie. lol

I read the book before it was a movie. One of the few King books that translated well into movie, imo. But the book still had bigger impact. You know, you can't close your eyes or turn away while reading. Well, I guess you could, but that would totally defeat the purpose. ;)

Yes, I find his books more terrifying than any of the movies. My imagination is quite vivid. I hadn't read that book, though, so the movie was horror enough. :-)
